Patriot Ambassadors is a service organization of 10th, 11th, and 12th grade students. Ambassadors participate in leadership training seminars and represent Wootton High School in a variety of activities each year. The Ambassadors are responsible for new student orientation, the Activity Expo, Patriot Pals, middle school visits, graduation; and ushering at Back to School Night, parent and community meetings, and theater events.
The selection process occurs in March and April and includes an application, a group interview, and teacher recommendations. Teacher recommendations will be obtained by the selection committee for all the applicants. The new team of Patriot Ambassadors will be announced in early May. An induction ceremony will be held in the Wootton auditorium in May.
The Ambassadors strive to uphold the Standards of Excellence in character, scholarship, leadership, service, citizenship, friendship, and enthusiasm as representatives of Wootton High School. Once selected, you will be expected to agree to the standards and assume the responsibilities of this organization. Like all organizations, commitment is valued. You will be expected to attend all after school weekly meetings during your team semester as well as all of the monthly meetings throughout the year. Your commitment to Ambassadors lasts for one school year. Existing members must reapply each year.
The new Ambassadors will begin meeting in May to plan the orientation programs for the new students. Orientation programs are manditory for all Ambassadors. Leadership training will also be scheduled before the end of the school year.
